They put our Jayco next to the grease dumpster in March and called it a view. Fine. We had the sunrise and their generator lullaby. Named the spot before they could.
Walked forty feet for coffee in April. The huddle had matching chairs. We had a folding table that lists to port. Coffee still tasted like first class once you got there.
Memorial weekend: an Airstream neighbor rolled our sewer hose back on the reel and refused a tip. I take back every joke I made about the aluminum clique. For that hour.
Solstice rally. They closed the horseshoe at dusk and we still saw the whole show from the dumpster. Somebody in a Flying Cloud waved. We waved the koozie. Diplomacy.
August already and the lot is still Row B. Cracked the windows from the couch this morning while two polished trailers did the credit-card walk. I made coffee. They made a procession.
Haley brought a bakery box to the silver huddle and then walked it over to our dumpster because “you guys looked left out.” We were not left out. We had the better view of who skipped dish duty.
They asked if the noise from the service road would bother us. Brother I grew up in St. Louis. A golf cart at 6am is a lullaby.
They saved us a cone. It was still forty feet from the coffee. We kept it as a souvenir.
At least we can open our windows from the couch. The aluminum clique has to walk outside and swipe a credit card in the latch just to let a breeze in. First class, until it rains and nobody packed the Amex.
